WTGR's Community Ties - Kristi Strawser, Shine on Corynna

Our good friend Kristi Strawser appeared on WTGR's Community Ties this week to discuss Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Month in Ohio, started in memory of her daughter Corynna Strawser, who passed away last December after living with the complications of the disease for quite some time.

In addition to Mitochondrial Disease Awareness Month, Kristi also discusses the upcoming first annual Shine on Corynna Event and 5k. This event will feature Romer's Chicken Dinners, games, DJ, and much more. Proceeds will go to benefit Mitochondrial Disease awareness/research to the UMDF (United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation), Scholarships to Corynna's graduating class 2015, and also Corynna's Wish at State Of The Heart Hospice.

Kristi also provides some details on an upcoming documentary that will be airing on regional PBS stations soon that includes their story.
