New Madison Public Library Receives Memorial Bench

The Friends of the New Madison Public Library were proud to present the library with a new outdoor bench in memory of Mary and Wells Behee. Mary was an active member of the Friends group, and she and Wells were avid, vocal supporters of the library. Shortly after their untimely death, the Friends received several generous donations in their memory. The group decided to purchase a bench from the Darke County Solid Waste District. The bench, which is made from recycled milk jugs, is located in front of the library near the flowers that the Behees loved. As an added benefit, the Darke County Solid Waste District donated an additional bench to the library for use by its patrons. Both gifts were welcomed and have already become a popular spot for New Madison residents and Tri-Village students.
