On January 29, 2015 at approximately 9:17 AM Darke County Deputies, along with Arcanum Fire and Rescue, New Madison Fire, Tri-Village Rescue, Greenville Township Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to the 2800 Block of Littles Road in reference to a rollover injury accident into a creek bed.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Ford Ranger Extended cab truck, driven by Lucas A. Gower, 18 of Arcanum, Ohio was northbound on Littles Road north of Hollansburg-Arcanum Road. Gower lost control of his vehicle on the ice covered roadway causing him to travel off the right side of the roadway. Gower's vehicle spun out of control as it struck a mailbox and traveled over the embankment into the creek bed. Gower's vehicle came to rest on it's side in the water.

Gower and his 10 year old female passenger were transported to Wayne HealthCare by Arcanum Rescue and Greenville Township Rescue. Gower's 11 year old male passenger was airlifted to Dayton Children's Hospital by CareFlight.

The Darke County Sheriff's Office would like to remind everyone to use extreme caution when driving on snow and ice covered roadways, as it creates hazardous conditions.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
