Order Your Tickets Today for Exciting Valentines Evening Planned by the Versailles Area Historical Society

This year’s annual historic dinner will be held at the Versailles Knights of Columbus Hall on St. Rt. 47 West. The special evening will be a true Valentines treat come February 14th.

Cocktails will be available beginning at 6:00 pm at our new cash bar. Dinner with two courses of wine included will be served at 7:00 pm.

We will be recreating the Welcome Dinner possibly hosted by Herr Seibt and his wife as they invite their newest neighbors in Dutch Roost or today, we would say Webster. In 1840 many German/Prussians came up the Stillwater to the tiny village that would come to feel like home.

Your hosts will transform you back to an old Inn and will recount the days of a bustling Webster with taverns, mills, general store, and many prosperous farms that surrounded the fertile rural area.

Dinner will be served by candle light and will feature German/American foods, from roasted turkey and dressing, to fresh sausage and sauerkraut, along with several delicious side dishes and a fabulous dessert, not to mention the appetizers of stuffed mushrooms and sauerkraut balls.

Live music of the period will enhance your trip back in time to a special place in our areas history. Once again our friends Tim & Kathleen Nealeigh will create the roles of the Seibts who were prosperous leading citizens of the community. Today the Seibts are honored with a road running through Webster to the Miami County line and their many neighbors are also remembered in the names of the roads around this picturesque village and the farms that surround.

Limited seating is available, so it is recommended to purchase tickets early! They are on sale now by contacting the museum at 937-526-4222 for $50.00 each or you may mail your check made out to the Versailles Area Historical Society to Jim Kelch at 105 Greenhaven Dr. Greenville, Oh. 45331 and your tickets will be held at the door for your convenience.
