GREENVILLE, Ohio - Women will soon have another location to shop in downtown Greenville with the upcoming opening of The Blue Bow Boutique!

For Heather Maxwell, the idea of opening a clothing boutique has been something she has always dreamed of.

Maxwell’s mother, Judy Favorite, is assisting her in preparing to open the boutique. Favorite agrees that Maxwell has had an eye for fashion for as long as she can remember.

“Heather has always had such a style about her,” she said. “She was very explicit about what she wore growing up, even if she was wearing what everyone else was wearing at the time, she would put her own spin on it.”

In May of 2014, Heather achieved her dream and opened her first store in Troy, Ohio. After the success of their first location; they have selected downtown Greenville as the home for their second store.

Heather and her husband, Jamie, are Darke County residents and they are excited to be a part of the downtown Greenville community. “With our first shop in Troy, we have enjoyed working with the Troy Main Street Program. When we decided to open a second store, we only researched communities with vibrant Main Street Programs. Greenville has that program and we are excited to work with them,” said Maxwell.

The Blue Bow Boutique will offer clothing and accessories for women of all ages. The mother/daughter duo agrees their goal is to appeal to a wide variety of customers.

“We want to appeal to younger women, but we also want to appeal to others, such as mothers, like myself,” said Maxwell.

Staying affordable is important to their business plan. At this time, all of their items are under the $50 price-point. “We are very happy with the clothing lines we offer and have found their quality to be exceptional for the cost associated with each item,” said Maxwell.

Customer service is also an important part of their operation. “My philosophy is you have to treat everyone who comes through the door the same, no matter who they are,” Favorite said. “We really want this to be a place where people say, ‘I love that place and I will go back!’”

“In the past, downtown Greenville was THE place to shop. We are excited to see our retail mix continue to grow and local entrepreneurs invest in our downtown,”said Amber Garrett, Executive Director of Main Street Greenville. “We welcome those who are serious about opening a business in the downtown district to contact us, our goal is to fill all of the available properties. We are focused on adding additional retail businesses and restaurants.”

The Maxwell’s contacted Main Street Greenville when they began their search for property downtown. “They contacted me with specific amenities. I set-up a time to give them a tour of our district and show them the available properties that met their requirements,”said Garrett. “Within a few days of that tour, they signed a lease agreement and began the process of opening their business.”

“Amber has been extremely helpful throughout this entire process and has made us feel welcome, from helping us complete paperwork to promoting and spreading the word,” said Maxwell.

The Blue Bow Boutique will hold their grand opening on Saturday, February 21st from 10 am - 6 pm. After the grand opening, their hours will be Tuesday-Friday from 11 am - 6 pm and Saturday from 10 am - 4 pm. “We welcome everyone to our grand opening. We hope you will stop in and see what we have to offer, we look forward to meeting you!” said Maxwell.

The store will be located at 401 S. Broadway, at the corner of 3rd St. and S. Broadway. For more information on the boutique, please follow them on Facebook at The Blue Bow Boutique Greenville.
