Mr. Baltes founded the speedway and owned and operated it until selling it to current owner Tony Stewart in 2004.
Darke County will miss Mr. Baltes' visionary leadership and unmatched personality.
The speedway also noted that "Services are being planned by the family and will be distributed by Eldora Speedway when complete."
