Scrap Arts Music will perform at Henry St. Clair Memorial Hall in Greenville for junior high students in all local public schools on Thursday, March 12 and Friday, March 13 as the final presentation of Darke County Center for the Arts 2014-2015Arts In Education Series. “This multi-faceted group 's unique show will entertain mightily with their original, rhythmically-rich percussion ensemble music while helping students understand the inter-relationship of music with science, visual arts, dance, and theatre,” explained DCCA Artistic Director Keith Rawlins. “Scrap Arts Music creates and plays unique instruments from recycled scrap materials; the look, the sound, the experience fascinates and energizes students, while constructively inspiring imaginations,” Rawlins concluded.

DCCA's Arts In Education programs are presented at no charge to the students and are free and open to the public. Performance times are coordinated with the schools' schedules, and are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, and 9:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. on Friday.

This presentation is supported by the Arts Midwest Touring Fund, a program of Arts Midwest that is funded by the National Endowment for the Arts with additional Contributions from the Ohio Arts Council, the Crane Group and General Mills Foundation. DCCA's Arts In Education presentations are sponsored by Target, DP&L Company Foundation, Greenville Federal, Maid Rite Sandwich Shoppe, Edison Community College, Richard and Shirley Baker, The Oliver Family Fund of the Darke County Foundation, BASF, Family Health, Littman-Thomas Agency, and the Mandy Green Fund of the Darke County Foundation. Additional funding is provided from DCCA memberships and the schools. The Ohio Arts Council helped fund this program with state tax dollars to encourage economic growth, educational excellence and cultural enrichment for all Ohioans. DCCA also receives operating support from the Harry D. and Esther Stephens Memorial as well as funding from the Ketrow Foundation and Lydia E. Schaurer Memorial Trust Fund.

Scrap Arts Music will also present a full-length concert at St. Clair Memorial Hall on Saturday, March 14 as part of DCCA's Artists Series. Tickets for this performance are $25 for adults; student tickets are half price.
