On April 16, 2015 at approximately 1103 a.m. Darke County Deputies, along with Greenville Township Fire and Rescue, and mutual aid from Gettysburg Rescue were dispatched to US127 and Kruckeberg reference a two vehicle injury accident with entrapment.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 2007 GMC Yukon, driven by Kenneth G. Diedenhofer (68) of Greenville was eastbound on Kruckeberg Rd and stopped at the intersection of US127. Diedenhofer then pulled in to the intersection and struck a 2011 Ford Focus, driven by Julie R. Azbill (42) of Arcanum, who was northbound on US127. Azbill's vehicle went off the right side of the road and came to final rest in the side ditch. Azbill was extricated from her vehicle by Greenville Township Fire and Rescue. Azbill was transported to Miami Valley hospital by CareFlight.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office and charges are pending at this time.
