State of the Heart Hospice to Hold Twentieth Annual Memorial Golf Outing

State of the Heart Hospice will hold the nonprofit agency’s Twentieth annual Ohio Memorial Golf Outing, Friday, June 5 at the Turtle Creek Golf Course on U.S. Route 36 east of Greenville. Proceeds from the fund raiser will go to the agency’s Care Center at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville. For the third year in a row Integrity Ambulance Service, headquartered in Greenville, is the presenting sponsor.

The Hospice Care Center opened in July of 2013, and it is anticipated that the Care Center will have served approximately 380 patients by the end of this year. Thus far this year, it is exceeding the number of patients served last year which was 150.The Care Center is located on the fourth floor of Wayne HealthCare and can be used by patients from all areas served by State of the Heart. There are five patient beds and a family lounge in an inviting, homelike setting. Families can visit loved ones seven days a week and 24 hours a day. It is the only care center of its kind in the area served by State of the Heart.

Golfers have the opportunity to golf in the morning or the afternoon. In the morning, golfers will begin at 8 a.m. and will have lunch served at 12:30 p.m. Afternoon golfers will have lunch at 12:30 also, then begin their game at 1:30 p.m. Teams can select their time preference.
