4 Arrested in Miami County Drug Raid

The Miami County Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the Piqua Police Department executed search warrants early this morning at 10220 N. County Road 25A, Lot #2, and 1243 E. Ash Street, Piqua, Discount Furniture and Mattress Outlet.

The warrants were issued subsequent a lengthy drug investigation which is still on-going. Arrested was David L. Owen, fifty-two years of age of Piqua, Diana Smith fifty-two years of age of Piqua, John D. Owen, twenty-five years of age of Piqua, and Michael A. Griffith, forty-nine years of age of Columbus.

David L. Owen has been charged with Possessing Weapons Under Disability, Drug Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Edith Diana Smith has been charged with Weapons Under Disability, Drug Possession, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. John D. Owens was charged with Possession of Drugs. Michael Griffith has been charged with Carrying a Concealed Weapon and Weapon Under Disability. Drugs, firearms, and U.S. currency were recovered in the search warrants. All charges are felonies and all suspects were incarcerated into the Miami County jail.

The charges will be forwarded to the Miami County Prosecuting Attorney for presentation to a Grand Jury.
