Prediabetes Class Offered

Prediabetes means that your blood sugar level is higher than normal but not yet high enough to be classified as type 2 diabetes. Without intervention, prediabetes is likely to become type 2 diabetes in 10 years or less. If you have prediabetes, the long-term damage of diabetes may already be starting.

Most people with prediabetes don't have any symptoms. Your doctor can test your blood to find out if your blood glucose levels are higher than normal.

There's good news, however. Prediabetes can be an opportunity for you to improve your health. Most people at the pre-diabetes stage should focus first on lifestyle changes including diet, physical activity and maintaining a healthy weight. Remember, any step that you take towards a healthy lifestyle is good.

Wayne HealthCare Diabetes Education Program invites you to join us for a Prediabetes Class to learn lifestyle changes you can incorporate to improve your health. The class will be held on May 20, 2015 from 10:00 am to noon in the 3rd Floor Conference Rooms.

The cost to attend the class is $10. Call 937-547-5750 to register for the program.

Having prediabetes is an early warning system. Take action to avoid health problems that diabetes can bring.
