State Line Family Medicine to reunite two Reid physicians, expand services to region

Reid Physician Associates is opening a new practice this summer on Richmond’s east side that will expand access to primary care in our region. State Line Family Medicine will reunite two long-time Reid physicians, Janet Meckley, M.D., and Tina Reichley, M.D.

The practice is at 534 West Eaton Pike, just off the National Road exit at I-70 near Lowe’s. The building is a former Ruby Tuesday restaurant, and renovations to the space should be complete sometime in June.

Drs. Meckley and Reichley both began their careers at Richmond Family Care Center, 795 Sim Hodgin Pkwy. Dr. Meckley joined the staff in 1993 after completing her family medicine residency at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Dayton, and Dr. Reichley joined the practice three years later after completing her residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital-Ohio Health in Columbus. Dr. Meckley left the practice six years ago to become a hospitalist at Reid.

“As a hospitalist, I was able to work one week on and one week off, and that gave me more time to spend with my husband and my sons, who were both in high school at the time,” said Dr. Meckley. Last fall, while taking a review course to prepare for her board certification renewal exam, Dr. Meckley said she began to consider a possible return to primary care.

“I missed getting to know patients and really helping them manage their health,” she said. “Two weeks later, Tina called and proposed the idea of setting up an office with the two of us. I gave it a lot of thought, and decided that the time was right—my oldest son is already out on his own, and my youngest is heading to college in the fall.”

Dr. Reichley said she is looking forward to working with Dr. Meckley again, especially since both of them have a passion for providing continuity of care. “We will share a call schedule to provide coverage for inpatients—that’s how I’ve always done it, and it works well for me,” she said. “We expect to be busy right away, in part because I will be bringing my patients with me from Richmond Family Care Center.”

The imminent retirement of another Reid family physician could boost patient volume at the new practice as well. Jeung Ahn, M.D., will retire from his New Paris, Ohio, practice this summer. He is referring his patients to State Line Family Medicine, which is located just three miles away. “As I prepare to retire after 36 years, it is gratifying to know my patients will have options for their care with State Line Family Medicine,” he said. “Drs. Meckley and Reichley are great doctors, and I know if my patients go to them, they will be in good hands.”

Craig Kinyon, Reid President/CEO, said Dr. Ahn “has steadfastly served his patients with clinical expertise, kindness and compassion for many years. While we are acknowledging his many contributions during his exemplary career, we will welcome Dr. Meckley back to her Family Practice role as she reunites with Dr. Reichley. We are very happy for them both as they maintain their legacy of service and compassion to their patients and prepare a new home to continue service to Dr. Ahn’s patients in their new location.”

Meanwhile, Lloyd Javier, M.D., and Phil Scott, D.O., will continue their busy practices at Richmond Family Care Center. State Line Family Medicine and Richmond Family Care Center are both part of Reid Physician Associates.
