The new program allows students to check out both laptops and Verizon® 4G LTE Hotspots for 48-hours at a time with their Edison Library card. Easy–to–use hotspots provide users with reliable wireless Internet access on mobile devices such as laptops or smartphones.
This hotspot initiative is already being used successfully in public library systems in both New York and Chicago to allow patrons to check out a Wi-Fi hotspot as if it were just another book.
Limited data will be available each time a hotspot is checked out, and data usage must be for Edison classwork only. Hotspots and laptops are available on a first come, first served basis. While Edison’s Library is open to the community, laptops and hotspots are reserved for students.
For more information, contact the Library by calling 937-778-7950 or emailing library@edisonohio.edu
