Summer has arrived at the Arcanum Public Library!

Summer has arrived at the Arcanum Public Library!  Our theme this year is “Every Hero Has a Story”.   We have programs, activities, games, movies and more planned!  Come join in the fun!
Registration for our Summer Reading Program begins on Monday, June 1st.  Come sign up your children and help them keep track of how much they read during the summer.  Adults are welcome to sign up as well.  Top readers earn prizes, and all get to take part in a party at the end of the program.

On Wednesday, June 17th, we will have the cartoon artist Jeff Nicholas here to give a lesson on drawing your own character.  He will be here at 3:30 and this is for kids from grades 3 and up.  Please get your ticket in advance as seating is limited.

On Thursday, June 25th, come see the Blood Center Mobile Lab as it visits the library.  It will be here at 10:00 am and will give a fascinating look at blood, donating, and how you can be a hero.  This is for all ages to come and learn!

Our always popular storytime will be on Mondays during the summer.  This is for kids up through preschool age and includes stories, crafts, and fun!  The times for June will be:  June 8th, a 10:00 and 11:00 program.  On June 15th, at 10:00 and 11:00.  On June 22, there will be a 10:00 program only, due to a special guest arriving.  On June 29th, there will be a 10:00 and 11:00 program.

We also have movies planned throughout the summer.  On Wednesday, June 3rd, come see “Big Hero 6” at 10:00 and “Captain America” at 2:00.  On Wednesday, June 10th, watch “The Incredibles” at 10:00 and “Iron Man” at 2:00.  On Wednesday, June 24th, come at 10:00 to see “The Great Mouse Detective” and at 2:00 to see “The Incredible Hulk”.  Popcorn will be served at all showings!

Feel free to call us here at the library at 937-692-8484 if you have any questions, or visit our website at www.arcanumpubliclibrary.org.
