GREENVILLE, OH – The YMCA of Darke County will be open Sundays this summer!
Both the Greenville and Versailles branches will be open 1:00- 4:00 PM on Sundays beginning June 1.
Did you know you don’t have to be a member to enjoy our classes or programs? This includes group fitness classes, swim lessons, gymnastic lessons, and youth sports classes. Summer classes begin Monday, June 8. Membership does have numerous benefits, including priority registration for classes, fitness staff to show you how to safely use equipment, and low class prices.
Our new Membership Referral Program is a way to thank long-time members and welcome new members. The YMCA of Darke County is offering both groups the opportunity to receive a 20% membership discount on monthly drafted memberships. New members can join with a friend to be eligible for the discount, or an existing member can bring in a new member to be eligible for the offer. The discounted rate remains in effect as long as you are both members of the YMCA of Darke County. See the Welcome Center for details.
Group fitness classes run Monday through Friday, with both morning and evening times. New group fitness classes for summer include Step and Strength, Lunchtime Fitness, Mat Pilates, Zumba Kids, Teen Strength and Conditioning, Total Body AM, and Girl’s Night in the Pool. Plus we are continuing many popular classes including Original Strength, Indoor Cycling and Boot Camp, Zumba, Yoga, Tai Chi, and a ‘raft’ of Aquatics classes in the pool.
Our Gymnastics Department is offering its usual slate of tumbling and gymnastics classes, plus summer gymnastics camps for preschoolers through teenagers. Each week features a different theme, such as Knights and Princesses, American Girl, Wild About Gymnastics, It’s My Birthday, One in a Minion, Cirque du Soleil, Summer is Frozen, and more. Half-day camps are 4 hours long and full day camps are 8 hours long, Monday through Thursday. Full day camps offer crafts, swimming, sports, recreational activities, gymnastics and a t-shirt.
Youth Sports Camps are a great way to keep kids active and learning through the summer months! Sports Camps are available to youth ages 7 and up. Camps include “Shoot for the Stars” Basketball Camp, “Just for Kicks” Soccer Camp, “Dash Like Flash” Speed and Agility Camp, “Bump, Set, Spike” Volleyball Camp, and “Get Up & Dance” Dance Camp. See more information in our Summer Program Guide on page 8.
See our full listing of classes with descriptions in our Summer Program Guide at www.ymcadarkecounty.org/programs, or pick up a copy at either Darke County YMCA branch.
