CELEBRATE BLOOD DONOR MONTH AT FRANKLIN MONROE BLOOD DRIVE

STEEL MUG IS A REMINDER TO ‘MAKE YOUR RESOLUTION STICK’

DAYTON, Ohio – The Franklin Monroe High School community and Community Blood Center are celebrating January National Blood Donor Month with a blood drive Friday, Jan. 22 from 8 a.m. to 12 noon in the Franklin Monroe High School old cafeteria, 8591 Oakes Road, Arcanum. The blood drive is open to the public. It’s a chance to make a New Year’s resolution to help others by giving blood. Everyone who registers to donate will receive a “Make Your Resolution Stick – Give Blood” mug. Donors should schedule an appointment online at www.DonorTime.com or call 1-800-388-GIVE.

The nine-ounce, stainless steel mug comes in blue and black with a red CBC blood drop logo and the reminder to “Make Your Resolution Stick – Give Blood.” CBC considers it a warm thank you for donors who don’t mind a needle “stick” to help save lives. The mug is free to anyone who registers to donate Monday, Jan. 11 through Saturday, Jan. 30 at any CBC Donor Center and most CBC mobile blood drives.

January is designated “National Blood Donor Month” because it is often a challenging time for maintaining the area blood supply. Winter weather can disrupt travel and seasonal illnesses can also interfere with donating. If you must miss an appointment to donate please reschedule as soon as you are able. We especially encourage the continued support of type O whole blood donors and type A/B platelet and plasma donors.
