DCP Park P.A.L.S. to Explore Winter

Wild teasel held the frost beautifully early this winter.
The Darke County Park District’s January Park P.A.L.S. program will feature winter explorations on January 9th. Park P.A.L.S. is a series of monthly programs designed for students in grades K-2 who are interested in nature. P.A.L.S. stands for Practicing And Learning Stewardship, and its mission is to develop future earth stewards through meaningful educational opportunities and hands-on experiences in the natural world.

Join a naturalist from 9:30am to 12 noon on Saturday, January 9th at Shawnee Prairie Preserve on St. Rt. 502 just west of Greenville to see what winter has to offer. Will it be snowy and cold or a mild winter? Time will tell. Either way participants will hit the trails to see what this year’s winter has brought us. Preregistration is required, and there is a $3 materials fee. Call or stop by the Nature Center today to sign your child up. The Nature Center can be reached at (937) 548-0165.
