“Nunsense” Leaving the Convent and Coming to Versailles

Girls are preparing to be Nuns!
The Towne & Country Players of Versailles invites you to join them as they welcome back the Little Sisters of Hoboken in the comedy “Nunsense”. This Production was first presented in 1991 and again in 1998 which brought together an outstanding local cast who shared the humor of the Nun with our community.

This time we return on the 30th Anniversary of Dan Goggins’ off Broadway opening of Nunsense. Presented through the courtesy of Samuel French Inc., this show is second only to “The Fantasiks” in longevity for off Broadway shows.

It’s rare that such a small cast in a musical can hold an audience like this show and stand the test of time. From slapstick humor and silly songs; to tap dancing, ballet and a poignant ballad or two, this musical has it all!

Mr. Terry Cassel of Greenville is the shows’ pianist and is in charge of the small band that gives life and a beat to this musical.

The Direction team of Jim Kelch, Towne & Country Players board member, and Phyllis Corbin come out of retirement to give their special touch to the show. New comer to the directorial team is Chad Peyton who brings a marvelous insight at his first time in a directorial role. This team is complimented by the extraordinary talents of veteran producer, and board president, Angie DeMange. The artistry doesn’t end there with veteran local choreographer, Lynn Blakely and a team of helpers including Abigail White, Bailey DeMange, and Heidi DeMange who all make the dances look effortless. Set & lighting design for the production are in the capable hands of talented Jacob Brown, a recent design graduate from Wright State University.

With all of this going on behind the scenes the front of the stage is filled by the talents of veteran and local favorites, Lois Knapke and Kim Borchers. They are joined by Erin (Brown) McKibbin who has practically grown up on the Versailles stage. Heidi DeMange graces the stage in her fourth production with the group. We welcome in her Towne and Country Players debut, University trained Chelsea Leis who rounds out this talented cast.

Tickets for the June 23rd and 24th evening performances at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, June 26th matinee performance at 2:00 p.m. all in the beautiful Versailles Performing Arts Center are now available on line. (Please call 937-689-6111 with any questions.)
