On August 11, 2016 at approximately 2:47 PM Darke County Deputies along with Tri-Village Rescue, New Madison Fire and Indiana University’s Life Line Helicopter were dispatched to State Route 121 north of US Route 36 West in reference to single vehicle injury accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a blue 2002 Oldsmobile van driven by Chelsea L. Lear, 26 of Bradford, Ohio was traveling southbound on State Route 121 when she traveled off the right side of the roadway, over corrected traveling back across the roadway striking a guardrail. Witnesses observed Lear become partially ejected upon impact with the guardrail.
Lear the only occupant in the vehicle was transported to Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton by IU Life Line Helicopter where she is listed in stable condition.
Ohio Department of Transportation was also called to the scene to inspect the damage to the guardrail.
This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff’s Office.
