After 54 years, Arcade Express Will Not Return to the Great Darke County Fair

Greenville OH: After 54 years, a historic Great Darke County Fair vendor has decided to not return to Greenville.

In 1963, Melvin Moore from Lancaster OH first brought the Arcade Express to the Great Darke County Fair. Melvin operated the arcade until his son, Jon Moore, took over the business in 1970. John’s daughter Holly and her husband Mike Williams became the owners in 1997 and have continued the tradition by returning to Greenville for the annual event that always begins the 3rd Friday in August.

It was a very emotional decision and Holly spoke with her 93 year old grandfather before she and husband Mike confirmed they would not return. Holly’s father, Jon passed away in 2009.

Holly stated it was strictly a business decision only. Holly and Mike reassure everyone that they are not going out of business, they are just minimizing their travel distances and overnight setups and teardowns. The entire Moore and Williams families wish to extend a since thank you to everyone that has played and enjoyed the arcade these past 54 years.
