On March 5, 2017 at 12:44 AM Darke County Sheriff Deputies along with Versailles Rescue, Versailles Fire Department and Miami Valley Careflight responded to an injury accident in the 11400 block of State Route 47.
Preliminary investigation reveals that a 2007 Chevrolet Silverado failed to negotiate a curve and went off the right side of the road. The vehicle struck a sign and several trees before it came to rest. The driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by careflight where he is listed in serious condition. The driver and sole occupant of the vehicle has not been positively identified at this time.
Alcohol is suspected to be a factor in this accident. The accident remains under investigation.
