BUSY APRIL PLANNED FOR THE ARCANUM PUBLIC LIBRARY

The Arcanum Public Library is the place to be in April! Come find books on gardening, spring cleaning and organizing, and taking care of animals. Take home a new movie, use the new computers, play games, get help with genealogy research, and so much more. Don’t forget about being able to download e-books from the library website.

The StoryTime program for preschool children is very popular. On Monday, April 10th, there will be a combined session at 10:00 a.m. Come hear stories, sing songs, go on an egg hunt, and have lots of fun. On Monday, April 17th, there will be no sessions as there is no school that day. On Monday, April 24th, there will be two sessions of StoryTime. One at 10:00 a.m. and the next at 11:00 a.m.

AfterWords is for kids in grades 1-4 and meets on Mondays after school from 3:45 p.m. until 4:45 p.m. Kids can make crafts, have a snack, play games, and hang out with friends. On April 10th, the fun will include an egg hunt! There will be no AfterWords on April 17th due to school being out for the day, but there will be a session on April 24th.

The TNT program for kids in grades 5 and up meet on Thursdays from 2:45 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. Kids can come socialize with friends, have a snack, play games, watch movies, and more. There will be session on April 13th and 20th. There will be no meeting on April 27th.

The library has plenty of special programs scheduled for April. On Tuesday, April 11th, the Darke Soil and Water Conservation District will present a “Build Your Own Rain Barrel” workshop at 6:30 p.m. Space is limited, and there is a fee if you wish to take home a barrel. Call the library for details. Also on Tuesday, April 11th, the book club will be meeting at 6:00 p.m. On Monday, April 17th, the library will be having a double feature movie during the day. “Moana” will start at 10:00 a.m. and “Middle School: The Worst Years of My Life” will start at 2:00 p.m. Popcorn will be served. On Tuesday, April 18th, there will be an adult coloring program at 10:00 a.m. Snacks and supplies will be provided. Come for a stress-free morning of coloring. On Thursday, April 20th, Miller Flowers will be here at 6:30 p.m. for their very popular program. Come find out about the newest plants and gardening techniques. Plants will be available for purchase. On Tuesday, April 25th, the Darke SWCD will be here again to present a program on gardening for pollinators at 6:30 p.m. Come find out how you can help these very important critters.
