SUMMER READING PROGRAM ALMOST HERE AT THE ARCANUM PUBLIC LIBRARY!

The Arcanum Public Library is busy getting ready for another exciting Summer Reading Program. For eight weeks, nearly every day will have something patrons can do at the library. The theme this year is “Build a Better World”, and the staff is planning lots of activities. Preschoolers can enjoy special StoryTime sessions on Mondays; check with the library for specific times. Kids in grades 1 and up can come on Tuesdays for lots of fun and games; please check with the library for specific times. Wednesdays will be movie days, with one movie shown at 10:00 a.m. and a different one at 2:00 p.m. Thursdays are set aside for special programs. We have Paul Adams as “Tricky Max” as our opening program on Thursday, June 8th at 10:00 a.m. We also have craft and building days lined up, a stream-table demo by the Darke Soil and Water Conservation District, a wildlife program with Brukner Nature Center, a show by Mike Hemmelgarn, and a day to build homes for critters. Registration begins on Tuesday, May 30th, and calendars can be picked up at that time. There is always something to do during the summer if you come to the library!

We would like to remind patrons we have our seed library up and running! The Ivy Ester Seed Vault has seeds for vegetables, flowers, and herbs. It is planting time, so come on in to get your seeds. They are free for the taking!
