Body Found Near Greenville Creek in Greenville, Police Seek Information

On July 3rd at approximately 11:21 am, the Greenville Police Department, Greenville Fire Department, and Greenville Township Rescue responded to the area of the 200 block of East Water Street in Greenville, Ohio on a report of a deceased person. Upon arrival, a deceased person was located in a heavily wooded area neat the Greenville Creek and the Darke County Coroner's Office was notified.

Following an investigation by the Greenville Police Department and the Darke County Coroner's Office, the Greenville Fire Department and Greenville Township Rescue assisted in the recovery of the deceased person. The body was transported to the Montgomery County Coroner's Office to assist in the investigation and to help positively identify the body.

On July 4, 2017, the Greenville Police Department and the Darke County Coroner's Office received information from the Montgomery County Coroner's Office on the identity of the deceased person found on July 3, 2017. The decedent was positively identified as 32 year old Mathew Ryane Addis of Greenville, Ohio. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.
