Motorcyclist Slides Completely Under Pickup Truck on 127

On July 29, 2017 at approximately 3:53PM Darke County Deputies along with Ansonia Fire and Rescue responded to the intersection of US Route 127 and Reed Road for an injury crash involving a motorcycle and truck.

Preliminary investigation revealed a Green 1996 Chevy 1500 pick up truck was being driven by a 16 year old Greenville teen, who was traveling Northbound on US Route 127 and had stopped at the intersection of Reed Road to make a left turn while waiting on oncoming traffic. A Black 1985 Kawasaki motorcycle was also traveling Northbound and driven by Mitchel Paul Grieshop 25, of Versailles, OH. who attempted to slow down and laid the motorcycle down causing him to slide completely underneath and out the front of the pick up truck while the motorcycle collided with the rear of the truck.

Grieshop was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by Ansonia Rescue for his injuries. Grieshop was not wearing a helmet.

This accident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
