BRETHREN RETIREMENT COMMUNITY SHOE DRIVE TO SUPPORT CLEAN WATER PROGRAM

Pastor Todd Reish with a portion of some of the shoes that have been donated to support the Waterstep Program for Clean Water
Brethren Retirement Community will be supporting 3 area congregations in a Shoe Drive for the Waterstep Programduring the month of August.

Perhaps you are wondering what the Waterstep program is?

Organizations (like churches and BRC) collect shoes. The shoes are then sent to Waterstep. Waterstep sells the shoes for export and inexpensive re-sale in markets around the world. But most importantly, the money collected from the shoes supports Clean Water Programs.

Waterstep works to offer clean, safe drinking water for people and living things around the world. So, that's the end result of collecting shoes that we no longer need! :)

Please take a look in your closets! If you have new or gently used shoes you don't wear anymore, consider bringing them to BRC for the Waterstep Program.

We will be collecting shoes at these drop-off locations:
  • In the Main Lobby
  • In the hallway outside of Senior Fit
  • In the entrance area of the Chapel in the Shuff Christian Life Center
  • At the Mill Ridge Village Center
  • At the Chestnut Village Center.
The collection will run from August 1 - 31st.
