On September 12, 2017 at approximately 7:51 AM Darke County Deputies along with Arcanum Fire, Arcanum Rescue, Greenville Rescue and CareFlight were dispatched to the 7700 Block of Hollansburg Sampson Road in reference to a head-on motor vehicle accident.
Preliminary investigation revealed a black 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by Kaylee Boolman, 20, of Arcanum was traveling west on Hollansburg Sampson Road. Ms. Boolman’s vehicle traveled across the center line striking an eastbound 2009 Saturn Outlook driven by Peggy Kerg, 65, of Greenville. The 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt caught fire prior to rescue crews arriving on scene. Witnesses on scene removed Ms. Boolman from the vehicle to a safe location.
Ms. Boolman was transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight. Mrs. Kerg was transported to Wayne Healthcare by Greenville Township Rescue where she was later transported to Miami Valley Hospital by CareFlight for further evaluation. Both drivers had non-life threatening injuries.
