On November 12, 2017 at 4:42a.m. Darke County Sheriff’s Deputies along with Arcanum Rescue, Arcanum Fire Department and Miami Valley Careflight responded to Jaysville St. John's Road north of Weaver's Ft. Jefferson Road on an injury accident with entrapment.
Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2016 Nissan driven by, Shonda Thomas (33), of Union City, was traveling north on Jaysville St. John's Road. The vehicle went off the right side of the roadway striking a guardrail before going airborne into a utility pole, the vehicle came to a rest on it's top. Ms. Thomas and her passenger, Alicia Flory (32) of Greenville, were taken to Miami Valley Hospital by Careflight where they are both listed in stable condition.
This accident remains under investigation.
