Food Preservation Workshop

Gardeners and other lovers of fresh produce are often interested in extending the season’s bounty by learning more about home-preserving fruits and vegetables. Now they can, by attending a free “Food Preservation Workshop” presented by Ohio State University Extension, Darke County, 603 Wagner Avenue, Greenville.

There will be five sessions to the workshop, each from 6:30 – 7:30pm:

May 22, 2018 - Drying Foods – Fruits and Vegetables
June 19, 2018 – Salsa – Freezing and Canning
July 24, 2018 – Pickles
August 8, 2018 – Canning Meat & Soup
September 10, 2018 – Herbs – Freezing and Drying

We emphasize the science behind preservation. We want everyone who cans or freezes fresh fruits and vegetables to understand why certain procedures must be followed precisely to ensure a high quality, safe product that they and their family can enjoy.

To reserve a spot in the class, contact OSU Extension, Darke County, at 937-548-5215, or email Diane Barga at barga.8@osu.edu.
