June Events at the Bradford Public Library

Bradford Public Library is getting ready to blast off into summer with our 2019 Summer Reading Program “a Universe of Stories!” Sign-ups are available now for all ages. Just stop by to fill out a registration card. Last day to register is June 29. Our staff have been busy planning unique and fun activities for kids of all ages. We even have some great fun planned for the grown ups! Here is what we have planned for the month of June.

First day to turn in reading logs was June 1. Registered students simply read, fill out a reading log and turn it in to collect some out of this world prizes! Adults will read and fill out a slip with their name and the name of the book they have read for a prize drawing at the end of summer.

Miami County Parks will be at the library every Monday starting June 10 from noon to 1:00 for their Universe of Pollinators Quest Program. Students can check out books hand-picked by the park district. Activities pertaining to the book are done at home. Once an activity is complete students can collect awesome prizes. Backpacks put together by the park district will be available for check out as well to assist with the activities. What a great way to encourage our children to read and explore nature all summer! This program will end July 22.

Every Monday starting June 3 we will once again be offering our Movie Monday! This popular event is FREE for all ages. We show a full length movie (rated PG or G) and even have FREE popcorn! If students or parents want to bring in their own snack they may do so too. Please no powdered snacks like Pixie Sticks or Fun Dip and no Drinks that have bright dye in them. We will follow the movie with a couple of rounds of B-I-N-G-O where students can win some great prizes. Parents may stay with their children and watch the movie, stay in the library while the children watch or may leave and come back to pick up if they like. Our movie-goers are chaperoned by our library staff and teen volunteers. B-I-N-G-O will dismiss at 4:00 each Monday.

Tuesday, June 11 Jeff Nicolas will be joining us at 3:30 for his popular Cartoon Workshop, “Into the Tooniverse”. Budding artists of all ages will enjoy his encouragement, guidance and talent as he leads participants through drawing two cartoons. This FREE workshop is open to all ages, supplies are provided. Please sign up in advance so we know how many are coming.
