In Wednesday’s meeting of the Darke County Commissioners, a motion was filed relating to the proposed annexation of approximately 14 acres of land from Greenville Township to the City of Greenville. This land is being targeted by Reid Hospital for a multi-million dollar facility that will be the largest satellite facility of Reid to date.

The land is located near the intersection of Katzenberger and Meeker Roads on the southern end of the city.

David Winemiller, an engineer for Reid Hospital, attended the meeting and stated that the project is planned to be executed in 3 phases. The first phase would have 1 building built at an estimated cost of $5 million, and Reid hopes to get underway in the spring.

It was also stated that now that the commissioners have approved the annexation, it will be submitted before Greenville City Council in October and will have to be reviewed and approved by the Greenville City Planning Committee.
