Union City, Indiana Child Dies After Accident at Baseball Practice

This week, a tragic accident took the life of an 8 year old Union City, IN boy.

Dylan Williams was practicing and covering first base during an all star baseball practice. A ball was thrown to him and hit him in the neck. Dylan collapsed immediately and was unresponsive. Dylan passed away the next day.

The family later was told he had entered a cardiac arrest, but the coroner has ruled that the cause of death was blunt force trauma.

Dylan's parents, Erick and Georgiana Williams told WHIO that Dylan's organs were donated so that he may live on and save other lives.

Also, a memorial fund has been established that can be donated to at Pacesetter Bank in Union City, IN. The "Dylan Williams Foundation" will fund scholarships and a defibrillator for the ball park. Click here to see WHIO's report on the incident.
