Versailles- On November 14, 2015 at approximately 11:54 P.M. Darke County Deputies along with Ansonia Rescue, Ansonia Fire, Versailles Rescue, and CareFlight were dispatched to the intersection of SR 47 and US RT 127 in reference to an accident with injuries.
Preliminary investigation shows that a 2009 Nissan, driven by Rodney Abney (24) of Bradford, was traveling east on State Route 47. Abney's vehicle failed to stop for the stop sign at US RT 127 hitting a south bound 2008 Suzuki driven by Cierra Wolfe (24) of Greenville. The driver of the Nissan and his passenger, Cody Shafer (24) of Bradford, were taken by CareFlight to Miami Valley Hospital from the scene and the driver of the Suzuki was transported to Wayne Health Care in Greenville. Abney is currently listed in stable condition, Shafer is critical, and Wolfe was treated at Wayne Health Care and later transferred to Miami Valley Hospital.
This incident remains under investigation by the Darke County Sheriff's Office.
