A note on the comments

In a lot of ways, the comments are the best part of this website. Some of these discussions are great, funny, interesting, etc. But somebody has to be the referee on what is fair game - and what is not. This website has a "Visitor Agreement" all the way at the bottom-left that gives the operator of the website absolute discretion to edit and/or reject comments. Those rules still apply, but with the recent explosion of comments it might be helpful to lay down a few extra guidelines for comments. Specifically, here are some examples of comments likely to be rejected.

  • Personal attacks on individuals, especially the operator of this website.
  • Calling anybody a dictator.
  • Citing to something that is a rumor.
  • Citing to "facts" that can't be easily verified by this website.
  • Repeating conversations and attributing quotes to individuals.
  • Excessive foul language (take note that some might be permitted).

What is specifically allowed - and is encouraged - are opinions (as long as you don't violate one of the above). A few comments were regrettably rejected today, even though the commenters made some really decent points. Sorry. Just try to take note of the newly-described guidelines.

As to any rumors, ideas for stories, general comments, or insults directed to the website operator, those can always be emailed to: darkejournal@gmail.com.

  1. At a recent political meeting Mrs. Bliss announced that question for Representative Zehringer could go through her. Why is it forbidden to ask about this--- it meets all your criteria.

  2. Perhaps it was originally asked in a way that did not meet hte criteria? Perhaps it was filled with aggression and distasteful words?

  4. Good to have rules.

    And the rules are good.

But DOGGONE, it takes out all the fun of attacking an individual, especially the website operator! - when you can hide behind the blog.

    :)
