USC vs. OSU - open thread

Editorial note: Jim Tressel is misguided in his defensive strategy. How many times do we have to lose games on the final drive by employing the "bend-but-not-break" defense? Granted ... OSU never seems to give up the big play. But here's a news flash for Jim Tressel: if the other team gets 5 yards every play, eventually they'll score a touchdown. I could forgive the guy if it was the first time, but ... Illinois a few years ago ... the bowl game against Texas last year ... and the final drive tonight engineered by a 19-year-old kid. Dude - there are defensive strategies other than a 4-man bull-rush! A blitz? A stunt? Something, please.

  1. You hit it on the head DJ. Can't believe how bad Tress coached this game. I have now officially lost all confidence in him. Who cares if you beat crappy UM every year and lose the really big ones the whole nation is watching!!!! Sorry Buckeye fans but Tress has earned the right now with his coaching and losing every significant game on the national stage for four years for us to lose faith in him. And, sorry, but Pryor is as dumb as a bag of rocks. What an awful second half. Hey Terrel, they have a game clock for you to actually look at before it goes to 00. Duh!!!!

  2. I agree. OSU dominated the entire game. They should have won. The coaching staff needs to get a little more agressive and start taking chances. What a disappointment.

  3. In regards to Pryer comment, I am so afraid two years from now we are going to be talking about the most overhpyed flop of a recruit in OSU history....hopefully he proves me wrong.

As for Tressel, could not agree with you more.

  4. The pass play that was incomplete before the half hurt, they could have ran and taken time off the clock, USC gets the ball back and scores, bad call.
The play that killed them was Pryor getting sacked and taking them out of field goal range in the 4th, if they score game over.
