Arrest made in Cheadle case ** video added

WHIOtv.com is reporting that Terry J. Durbin, pictured at right, of New Carlisle, Indiana, has been arrested for the murder of Patrick Cheadle. Durbin is currently being held in Randolph County, where he will likely remain if the homicide occurred in Indiana (as has been previously reported).

More details here.

UPDATE: Steve Baker video added here.

  1. I'm assuming no one knows the cause of death then? I had assumed it was nothing obvious (like a stabbing or gunshot wound or something), but maybe it was?

    Interesting.

  2. To all those people who were ripping the Greenville Police Department ... don't you feel stupid now? The murder didn't even happen in Greenville, let alone Darke County, or even Ohio.

  3. I agree with naysayer. And even though the murder didn't occur here, the fine work done by GPD, DCSO, and DCCO will certainly be essentially in Randolph County's prosecution of the alleged Terry Durbin.

Now that someone has been charged they may release more details.

  4. Not to take anything away from GDP, I'm sure that it was a collaborative effort on the part of Greenville PD, Darke County SO,Randolph County SO and the Indiana State Police. Good job to all involved.

  5. No I don't feel stupid ripping the GPD what about all the unsolved murder's that was done in the city? What about those family's who live each day knowing a killer is walking around and can't be caught due to the screw up of the evidence. So no I don't feel stupid!

  6. "and can't be caught due to the screw up of the evidence"

And you certainly have proof that this occurred? I doubt it, but go ahead and surprise me.

  8. Post from 1:08 has no clue as to how hard and involved police work can be sometimes. Yes, it sometimes takes years to solve a crime, and there are crimes that end up never being solved... but it isn't from lack of trying. Some crooks just manage to get by. Yes, the families suffer. But do those families try hard to WORK WITH the authorities, or do they hinder & complain to them? Just some food for thought 1:08

  9. What unsolved "murders" are you talking about? If you're going to open your mouth you may want to know what you're talking about first. There has only been 2 murders in the city of Greenville and that was the double homicide 10+ years ago! You have no right to say there was a "screw up with the evidence"! What evidence was screwed up? Do you know anything about police work, other than what you see on TV? I would like to see you try to solve a simple crime, let alone a homicide! Some people are so ignorant.

  10. You got it Echo! Some people just don't get it at all. They probably have an ax to grind with the authorities because they got a DUI and argued that they "weren't drunk", got mad when they spent the night in jail, and Monnin or Hein hit them fines. 1:08 is a moron for sure!

  11. It's worth noting that crimes all across the country go unsolved, including murder. My guess would be that the percentage of violent crimes solved in Darke County is higher than the national average.

  12. Well this is 1:08, Jeff and Echo I am not a moron, no I have never ever been in trouble with the law, however I am good friends with the family of the Denny Young mishap, the killer was right in front of their nose and couldn't catch him...speak to the family of Denny Young I'm sure you will get an ear full of what they could have done differently. Do you really like calling people names? I am just giving my opinion, how cruel you to are insulting me I really don't think I insulted neither of you. Shame on you, maybe you two should go to church sometime. Are either of you on the case? Have either of you spoke with the family's of these two people murdered? What do you to know about solving homicides? How critical. Excuse me for using my freedom of speech, w/o being called nasty names.
