Darke County pizza poll

Our next poll is going to rate the best pizza in Darke County. But before the poll is posted, we want to make sure the list is comprehensive. A preliminary list would include the chains: Pizza Hut, Marco's, and Papa John's. If you want another pizza place(s) added, please leave it in the comments.

Added from the comments: McBo's, Petey's, Red and Ruth's, The Don's Pizza, Teaford's, Picnic's, Sportzsters, Pitsburg Pizza and Grill, Hummer's, Creekside, Chicken Kitchen II, Farmer Brown, Miller's Tavern, Whistle Stop. Keep the suggestions coming.

Change: we're going to do two polls ... 1) the chains, and 2) the independents. Poll added ... VOTE.

  21. The "best" pizza is very hard to define because there are so many different kinds, ingredients, etc. - not to mention personal preferences to taste. Darke Co. is pretty lucky because we do have so many small shops to go, and those guys usually make the better tasting pies. All that being said, for the chain places I'll vote for Marcos. Mostly because they are consistent and I like the sauce. For the local shops I'm going with Red & Ruth's. Sometimes a little greasy, but always loaded with stuff and the meats always taste good.

  22. Marco's Pizza! Nothing in this county comes close to them in regards to quality or service!

  23. To refer to Kathy's as C&R is just wrong because their pizza hasn't resembled C&R's pizza for some time. And as to so many of the others mentioned they are made from prefabbed crusts and premade sauces either bought from Buchy's or Piqua Pizza Supply. Godfathers was a truly unique pizza experience but their gone now. That really only leaves Marco's for a great and consistant pizza. Not to mention their incredible subs!

  28. If Darke County would present a heathy choice for Pizza I would eat it. But like everything else in this area it is geared to make people overweight.

  29. McBo's is very good, Woodcrest lanes in UC is pretty good.
The chains are all pretty average, Godfathers is the best chain, tied with Casano's.

  30. Marco's has a crispy thin crust pizza when topped with veggies and cheese is as "healthy" as pizza is gonna get. But what suprising is how dran good it is. And you don't feel like a giant slob after eating it.
