Here's a story that everyone needs to hear and that will change your opinion about lawsuits in Ohio!!!

DarkeJournal reader C.B. wants you to watch the following video from WCPO in Cincinnati (video embedded with permission). The accompanying WCPO article includes additional information, interviews, and a link to the Ohio Supreme Court decision that is the basis for the story.

  1. I would think that GOP operatives would be rejoicing. Just after the Republican-controlled US Supreme Court opened the floodgates to businesses (foreign and domestic) to put unlimited funds for the benefit (or detraction ) of political candidates or incumbents; the Republican-controlled Ohio court eliminated responsibility for medical malpractice. After all, they have been crying for this for years. The only bright spot is Justice Pfeifer. While a Republican, he retains his principles and sense of fairness.

  2. The US Sureme Court just leveled the playing field against democrat controlled unions and George Soros, Touche! On a serious note, while this Ohio Supreme Court ruling seems disturbing, I can't believe that there is something not being disclosed by the media that swayed 6 out of 7 justices in making this decision. If the ruling follows the Ohio Revised Code and the previous decisions referenced, which I did not look up, then the laws would need changed. Fairness and the Ohio Revised Code do not alawys go hand in hand. It will be worth following any action in the state legislature concerning this in the future. For tort reform, how about "loser pays" and that means the losing attorney pays, also? That in itself should stop about all of the frivolous lawsuits and you would get mostly legitimate suits filed.

  3. I would agree there seems to be more than the "I team" is telling, but to extend immunity to this level seems to be a reach.

  4. LOL !!! Asking a Lawyer "do you think that's fair" is like asking a bald person "what is the best kind of shampoo to use" Neither one has a clue, but both of them will give an answer base on facts that they can dream up in their head.
