COMMUNITY THEATRE RETURNS TO MEMORIAL HALL

On April 2, 2010, the Darke County Civic Theatre will return to the St. Clair Memorial Hall, for its first production on that stage in 10 years. The company will present Neil Simon's Star Spangled Girl, a romantic comedy set in 1960’s San Francisco.

Andy and Norman run an underground political magazine and struggle to acquire subscriptions as well as money for the standard cost of living. As Andy works to dodge their rent by going on dates with their thrill-seeking landlady, Norman is infatuated with their new neighbor, Sophie. She is an all-American Southern girl training for her swimming bout in the Olympics.

Laughs ensue as Norman tries to win Sophie's affections to seemingly no avail, and Sophie discovers her true desire.

Sophie Raushmeyer will be played by Crystal Schutz. Andy Hobart will be portrayed by Cary Miller and Devon Persons will take the role of Norman Cornell. This production will be directed by Richard Edwards with his assistant Reuben Kennett.

Performance times are Friday, April 2nd, 2010 and Saturday April 3rd, 2010 both opening at 7:00pm

Tickets will be $5.00 per person in advance, and $7.00 per person at the door. Tickets may be purchased online at www.darkecountycivictheatre.com, at Crystal LeeAnn Photography, located at 139 N. Broadway in Greenville, Ohio, or by visiting the box office at the Memorial Hall every Thursday in March from 11am – 2pm.
