The DARKE T.E.A. PATRIOTS meeting Tuesday night at the Lighthouse Christian Center was fairly well attended in spite of the absence of publicity because zero newspaper or television announcements were made. This trial effort to determine the success rate of using only the internet was quite informative. The meeting start time of 6:00 P.M. must be properly published in the future.
The planned RALLY in downtown Greenville on Saturday March 27, 2010 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. was discussed at length and in the process identified a number of relevant items. Identities of the DARKE T.E.A. PATRIOTS was an issue that was resolved by acceptance of a prominent membership card prepared by Jerry Gasquez worn on a lanyard around the neck and a tee shirt with our logo and name to be available to everyone. Invitations by phone calls and emails will be sent to our neighbor Liberty and TEA Party Groups encourage them to join the RALLY and show their colors.
A bus trip to NUTTER Arena is planned for April 13 to participate in the one year celebration for the first Dayton Tea Party.
Concern regarding individual understanding of this patriotic Group’s purpose and consistency of the response to questions led to reading and emphasizing our Mission Statement and the tenth Amendment to the Constitution the United States. The Executive/Policy Committee will prepare a list of questions and answers.
The DARKE T.E.A. PATRIOTS are a registered Political Action Committee in Ohio and as such must comply with all PAC requirements. This also means that we are able to accept donations. A simply process is to go to our website at www.tea-patriots.info and learn about us and just maybe take advantage of the DONATION button on the home page.
UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), the WORLD HERRITAGE COMMITTEE plus BIOSPHERE RESERVES were discussed because although the United States has been actively involved in this effort since the early 1970s, it was a surprise to learn that the properties under the control of these programs include for example Yellowstone National Park, Independence Hall in Philadelphia and the Smokey Mountains National Park. It would appear that the United States retains sovereignty but control and direction is relinquished to the United Nations groups under UNESCO.
The fact that the DARKE TEA PARTY is an independent unaffiliated entity not associated with any other Tea or Liberty group or political party was stressed.
There were two candidates present and invited to speak but County Commissioner Candidate Dave Niley had to leave for another meeting. The featured and only speaker was Magistrate George Reynolds who is in a primary race against Honorable Michael T. Hill for the 2nd District Court of Appeals.
The next meeting will be on Thursday at 6:00 P.M. on March 25. The purpose of this meeting is complete planning for the RALLY on Saturday March 27. This is a public meeting and all DARKE County citizens are welcome.
How can Al Bliss be active in this organization, since TEA Parties usually support Seth Morgan and Mrs. Bliss is the county chair for Mr. Morgan's opponent, Dave Yost?
