Secretaries' Administrative Professionals Week

The Flower Patch “Traveling Van” will be driving around Greenville, Wednesday, April 21….

If you have an Administrative Professional that you would like to say “Thank you for all you do” with flowers, we will stop at your office and you can pick out that special arrangement from our Van.

All you do is call the Flower Patch 548.5675 and ask them to add your business to the list…… What a great way to say Thank you!

  1. Missing this has as much 'ugly' ramifications as forgetting an anniversary. Thank you for the reminder!

  2. SECRETARY..... I refuse to call these people "administrative professionals". I have the highest respect for them because they often have a thankless position and when it comes down to it, it's the SECRETARY that runs the office. But and "administrative professional"? Pllleeeaaassssseee........

  3. What is wrong with the title "Administrative Professional" old school? Here is the definition for you: In 1955, the observance date of National Secretaries Week was moved to the last full week of April. The name was changed to Professional Secretaries Week in 1981, and became Administrative Professionals Week in 2000 to encompass the expanding responsibilities and wide-ranging job titles of administrative support staff. First of all, I work in the legal field, do you honestly think the Attorney does ALL the work himself? No. I research cases, prepare the legal documents, talk to Attorney's and occasionally the Judge, I also track down clients and try to meet there needs. So, I would like to know from you what my "Title" should be known as. And a word for all "Administrative Professionals", I hope you have a great day and your boss can show how much you are appreciated :-)

  4. Old School...I am an administrative assistant and my college degree states the same. I have worked for my employer for over 14 years and there are not many things in the office that I do not take care of. I would suggest that you look up the extensive description of what we do in the Occupational Outlook Handbook 2010-11 Edition before stating that we cannot be classified as an administrative professional. I have not spent my entire life in this field to be told that I am not qualified to be an administrative professional.

  8. Bunch of lazy women eating donuts behind their desks. You all should show appreciation to your boss for having a job. You could be replaced in an minute. How hard is it to type and file?

  10. Rocky, I don't eat donuts and I am not lazy and I am grateful to my boss for having my job and tell him that a lot. Obviosuly you have never worked in an office to know what "the girl behind the desk does on a daily basis". Just wondering if you are not a "lazy man" without anything better to do than bash hard working women! Have a great day and go eat a donut now!
