The Darke County Young Republicans welcomed Commissioner Candidate Mike Stegall and State Senator Candidate Bill Beagle at their May meeting. The group had prepared a list of questions for Mr. Stegall and Mr. Beagle. Shown above is Mike Stegall, Andrew Dirksen , David Barger, Micki Earwood, Leah Polling, and Bill Beagle.
The fledgling Young Republicans of Darke County are building a politically aware group that welcomes interested young adults. For information contact David Barger

Only four members and two speakers? Maybe people griping about not passing the GCS levy are right - not voting for the levy will cause no "young" people to stay in Darke County!
ReplyDeleteBut, I doubt that's the issue.
I am emarrassed to call myself a Republican right now, little alone have my picture in a GOP group.LOL
ReplyDeleteEmbarrassed? Why?
ReplyDeleteNothing to be embarrassed about in Darke County. At least one former County official and the current party chair were originally Democrats and switched to be on the side with the most members. Kinda like Specter, but at least successful.
ReplyDeleteIf I remember, this is one of the groups that Bob Robinson had a part in starting to try and drum up support for his campaign. I am not surprised to see so few people showing up now that he is no longer in the race. It gives true insight into the POSER Republicans and those who truly support the cause. Good for you to all those keeping with the group! Now you can start a Young Republican group made up of, well, actual Republicans!
ReplyDeleteThe "problem" with any group comprised of this age span, is that they are terrifically busy, raising families, working hard, etc. It is difficult to give time to a political idealogy even if they support it. However, membership in this grouo is an ideal way to find out about what issues are vitally important, and to actually DO something, rather than gripe about it.
ReplyDeleteBob Robinson had absolutely NOTHING to do with this group getting started! In fact, maybe people believing that he is associated with it is one of the reasons why membership is low. I know I certainly wouldn't join if I had to see him every month!
ReplyDeleteRobinson has a "Youth in Politics" group for teenagers. He started it because he did not want any part of a Teenage Republicans group that was being worked on (since he is not a Republican), so he started a non-partisan group instead.
