I'd like to see more in the Senior journal and perhaps a journal for those that are middle aged and disabled on SSI & SSDI.

Oh, I hope your first two commentators haven't set a precedence for this subject of sincerely asking your readers about what else they might want to read about in Darke Journal.
ReplyDeleteThe Advocate already does the Senior Journal segment and the Teen Advocate segment and as far as a " worst person in the county" goes, I don't want to feel like I am reading Letterman's Top Ten list every time I log on.
Please just stick to local events, local politics and local issues, all of which the Advocate sorely lacks.
The Darke Journal is a welcome addition to this area.
I totally agree with Alex B! We really don't need a worst person award. Stick to the basics of local issues & local politics as you are currently doing.
ReplyDeleteWhat about featuring a local artist every wk? Darke county has its fair share of them and the only time we see some of them and their work is at the fair. I wish we had a store where only local items could be featured and bought. Artists have a hard time getting "known". The feature in DJ could be on woodworkers, painters, ceramics etc. Artists are featured at Bears Mill but usually they are out of towners. If one thinks a local artist's work isn't worth an investment try buying an Anna Bier painting now-good luck finding one for sale!

Last year, the administrator of the county home was fired for alledged misconduct. We never heard the outcome, does anyone know what the outcome was or is this another county coverup?

Estimated / projected costs - Bids rec'd - Accepted Bid amount and info on company(ies) completing work
I'd like the facts regarding these type of projects rather than town gossip.
