The new Greenville Room at Garst Museum

Garst Museum announces the completion of the "Greenville Room" in its display of local history. The project was started in 2009 and now exhibits a large mural of Broadway in 1945 during a major parade. The mural is the center of a timeline beginning in 1825 up to the present time. In the center of the room is a model, built by Charles Wilson of the 1875 courthouse. Other exhibits include photographs of historic houses, schools and churches, plus artifacts from the city.

This project was a joint effort by Director Penny Perry and museum intern Patricia McEldowney, with help from Nancy Stump. “Tricia” is completing her second year as an intern. She is an honors student at the University of Toledo and will graduate this month. She will begin work on her Master of Arts degree in September at Wright State University. Her duties at Garst Museum have been accessioning artifacts (cataloging); conducting group tours; and working on display development among many others.
