Bill Funderburg resigns from Greenville School Board

Dear Greenville School Board members: I wish for you to accept my resignation from the Greenville School Board effective September 21, 2010, at the 6:00 p.m. board meeting. I wish the young people the best education in the future with the tax dollars that are available. I thank the many past supporters and workers, as well as past board members going back to 1977 I’ve had the privilege to work with. I’ve retired after 58 years in the pure swine business, and Carol and I plan to enjoy some of the things we have not been able to get away and do. I do not plan to be involved in any activities or business in the Greenville Schools in the future. ~ Bill Funderburg

  1. I want to thank you Mr. Funderberg for your service to our schools and your committment to making a difference. This is another sad day for our school and our citizens that you are leaving. Have fun in your retirement and that is what its really all about - enjoying our family, in the end that is what matters. Again thank you for all that you inspired.

  6. With your resignation, Mr. Funderberg, Greenville Schools lost a faithful servant and respected leader. Thanks for your many years of dedicated service and for your loyal support of our students and teachers. I sincerely hope a candidate with your integrity and vision can be found to fill the void on our board that your absence leaves. Greenville Schools lost a true advocate.

  7. Bill, your many years of service to the district are appreciated by those of us who agreed with your ideals and supported your efforts to live within "the budget" rather than attempting to "keep up with the Jones". You will be hard to replace.
