I read the article and watched the video and still dont understand what is going on here. she wants people to be able to stay in their homes if they dont pay for them? did it sell or go back to the bank? I dont get it.
Hmmmm where could they go. Seems like I read somewhere people could go when they are homeless. Wait a minute if they are sex offenders or felons I know just the place. If not it looks like they have to live under a bridge. It is unfortunate that people lose their homes but what else are they supposed to do when they don't or can't pay for it. I do feel sorry for them but why would they disrupt someone from doing a job. A job that someone gets paid for so they can make their mortgage payment.
I imagine there is a lot of red tape once the foreclosure process starts. Plus sometimes you may get different advice/instructions from different people at the same financial institutions which can be very confusing. The bottom line is not so much there isn't great paying jobs out there.....My opinion is most people live beyond their means or put the wrong necessities in top priority. Granted there are hardship cases that are legit....but for the ones that are able to work...there are plenty of jobs out there maybe not great pay but get a second job....if there is a way....do it...WORK...just don't give up....and don't be buying homes you know deep down you can't afford. I am sorry if I sound harsh but trust me, I don't have a great paying job but I don't over-extend and I do without the frills in order for bills to be paid. I have a decent home and not my dream home...but I can pay for it. If a dream home is suppose to provide your happiness, then you better look again. If you can't pay for it then that happiness is not going to last.
Wow, it's true. In Darke county you can be an axe murder, but if you pay your bills, it's ok. It doesn't help the community in anyway for these people to lose their homes. It reduces the value of the surrounding homes. Of course, the slumlords are loving this!
I admire this woman for standing up and speaking for what she thought was right. That is a basic right we have as American's. She was polite and courteous. The least we can do is listen. If I ever run into her I will shake her hand.
I agree mr morris.I would shake her hand too cause the county jumps way to quick in these tough times. Its like they cant wait or give some one a chance.I all so dont see were it was a disruption. As you said she was polite and courteous. So whats the harm and why did this deputy feel the need to call back up.Cant handle a older lady by his self.
Foreclosure takes months and months, even years to happen. Most foreclosure cases, the person just quits paying cause they know they have months there to live for "free". Knowing they are just walking away.....they don't even try to sell it in order to save their credit...its easier just to live there for months without paying...where is your pride people????
Some seem to think that only lazy irresponsible people fall into this catagory. Well, due to unforseen layoffs ect, my family was almost homeless once. I was not a homeowner, however, I have always been a hardworking mother who provided for my children with no govt. aid. My husband left and I got laid off. I dont think people realize how quickly this could happen. It amazes me, we give billions in dissability for anyone with an ache, welfare to anyone, but these people cant get any help??? Wow, what a government we have!!
