Greenville Rotary meeting - November 9, 2010

The Greenville Rotary Club met Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at the Chestnut Village Community Center of the Brethren Retirement Community with 30 members and 4 guests in attendance.

Following lunch at Noon, the club enjoyed hearing the program speaker, Susan Smith, Executive Director of Community Outreach for Wright State University.  She shared some facts about WSU such as the first classes were held there in 1964.  There are currently 19 Associate Degrees, 91 Bachelor Degree and 76 Graduate, Master’s or Doctoral Degree programs available.  They are having a record enrollment year at nearly 19,800 students.  Nearly 7,000 students live on or adjacent to campus.  There are 90,000 alumni from WSU and 47,000 of those still live in “Raider Country”.  An interesting fact… of those in Darke County with Bachelor’s Degrees, 31% of those degrees were awarded at WSU!  Susan stated she would love to meet with anyone regarding partnerships or internship opportunities.

Anyone interest in becoming a member of the Greenville Rotary Club may contact the Club Secretary, Christy Baker at 937-548-3779 or by email at cbaker@ymcadarkecounty.org; or the Club Treasurer, Diane Shuff at 937-548-6181 or by email at dshuff@myfsbdirect.com.
