  1. Beautiful. The kids are lucky to have such a great community stand by them and voting for a new school and a beautiful gym. Too bad Greenville residence didn't care about out children. Nice school Arcanum :~)

  2. Ditto! A few extra tax dollars can do wonders for educating the future of your community.

  3. Yes, Arcanum residents do stand by their schools! Its is my understanding that State money only pays for practice gyms, so spectator gyms must be paid for by the voters.

    Way to go Arcanum!

  5. At first glance, I thought they were really into fall seasonal decorating. Looked like some sort of collage in the form of a turkey. LOL

  6. Has anyone driven through Arcanum and seen all of those Mansions?? Thank god the people there are so wealthy in order to afford a facility like that... whew

  8. 10:26-There are more mansions in Greenville..lots more than in Arcanum :) I think it's more pride and sacrifice than money. Glad the citizens are concerned with their children instead of paying for dumb stuff like the Chemlawn man. (no offense Chemlawn)

  9. so, os, do you know for a fact that the people who pay for Chemlawn (or any other service) did not vote in favor of the school levy? Just a thought....

  10. Nope. Not at all. Felt that person was slamming Arcanum with their "wealthy" comment. They aren't wealthy, but I love how proud they are. And I think it's cool they chose a school for their children instead of upkeeping their "mansions". Chemlawn makes a nice lawn-No worries-They seem to do well in Greenville!

  11. os: Do Mansions equal wealth? Not necessarily. One is not wealthy if one has a mortgage, car payments, credit card payments. The last time I drove through Arcanum, at least 1/3 the houses seemed to be for sale. Looks like pride is ill-fated to me.

It's a positive post about a school......you probably blasted gville, too! Sorry you don't have any pride-good for the communities that don't have YOU as a resident!!

  16. 10:26 said mansions? What? Sounds like some ticked off Greenville people to me. Congrats to Arcanum. Glad there are some houses for sale, also. (maybe a move to Arcanum and outta Greenville for me)

  17. Versailles is nice. I hope Greenville will get a chance someday. There are probably lots of bad feelings left over from the levy. I bet the KIDS are happy and that's what matters most!

  18. You all need to lighten up! 10:26 was obviously using sarcasm....no way that was a serious comment.

  19. I think the 'mansion' comment was supposed to be sarcastic...as in....we really don't have mansions here and the people of Arcanum are not filthy rich but we chose to support our kids and pay for a new school anyway. I took the comment to be a dig at Greenville, not a dig at Arcanum.

And yes, we are proud of our new school. The kids are excited that they get to start after the holiday break and the parents are pretty excited, too.
