  4. What video-All I see are 2 pictures? In center of roof, is that a car phone antenna? Maybe release the video (more clues than these 2 pictures) so we can see mannerisms. I'm sure our fine police dept. has checked dmv for what could be determined down to 2 model years w/ 4 drs. ect... I'm waiting to see how long it takes them...lol

  5. well 8:25...there is a video that was on the news where they were doing the same thing..and you could see the car pulling up and the licence plate was visible but fuzzy...i would think that maybe they could sharpen it up somehow and get the plate number. Just trying to help..dont appreciate your sarcasm, after all I am not the one committing the crimes and dont deserve your attitude :0)

  7. just a note:

CSI is not real life. you cannot simply take a fuzzy image and magically add resolution to it.

    or, "ENHANCE"..."ENHANCE"..."ENHANCE"

  8. i don't know kurt. i zoomed in on one of those guys and hit "enhance" a bunch of times. i think it did come out much clearer:

  9. I was going to say, NASA has turned pretty bad pixilation into actual images. Sort of the same theory that the new Photoshop uses to "guess" what was behind the person you just cut out of a photo.

  10. Crime is becoming too common in our area. We are all going to have to start keeping a watchful eye around where we are.

  11. Agree-better video would help. And THERE ARE NOT THAT MANY of that particular model, color, etc.. saturns around here! I wonder what our police dept. DOES all day!

  12. kurt-CSI isn't real?? hahahahahaha

  13. DCSO and most law enforcement doesn't have the resources NASA might have.

Even then, guessing a background versus guessing letters and numbers are two entirely different areas.

My point remains that you can't expect to be able to just take a blurry image and sharpen it like lazy TV writers often suggest.

  14. Not really, because it's easier to fill in the missing pixels in a license plate number versus and entire background.

You would be surprised the software available to law enforcement, it is also possible to send these images to departments with the software.

I agree somewhat with what you're saying, but it is possible, and not that unheard of.

  16. dj: that enhanced photo software worked well. although that man is too sexy; he wouldn't last long in prison!!!

  17. BE - Someone has to pay for all that software or sending it another Dept that has the software. Are you willing to donate an extra $300,000 so your local Dept. can get the technology? You may think that's a crazy estimate but it's not. That's what it's going to update the computer system at your local Dept.

  18. well-somebody put the "enhanced" stuff up!!

  19. Give law enforcement a break people, with the amount of staff and resources GPD has they do a pretty damn good job for how busy they are. My opinion, everyone carries a gun, if a burgler gets caught, they get shot and thats the end of it. Orrrrrr better yet, PD catches the suspect, and we have a local stoneing at the circle, everyones invited, of course it will be "BYOS"
    (bring your own stone)
