  7. Agree with you 100% Whoda. It was the military who brought this guy down, not the president. He should not take credit. It has been a standing order to get Bin Laden dead or alive for almost 10 years now.
    Our military is the best.

  8. Sorry, folks. But Obama gets some credit no matter how much you hate him. Just shows you have no credibility if you are so tainted you cant give credit where credit is due. This was a great effort by the Prez., CIA and the military. All get credit! If you can't see that then perhaps you need to open your mind and get a new perspective. Your comments are pathetic.

  9. Come on guys. is this really about knocking on the president for taking credit? not once did i hear him talk about himself taking out Bin Laden. He is the commander in chief, therefore the military has to wait for his call on ordering a kill on such person, just as it would if Bush was in office, or Palin. It's not different. And i hear people talking about Obama doing this for a campaign boost.. come on AMERICAN Citizens.. we are better than this.. God Bless this country and the Navy Seals who took this guy out. I am proud to live in this country and proud to be an AMERICAN, no matter who the president is.

  11. I'm not a big Obama supporter, but all fires burn to the top. If this had gone awry he would have been assigned 100% of the blame would he?

politics as usual will return, but for this brief moment. Congratulations to the military, intelligence, etc... (former) president Bush, AND President Obama.

  12. I never said that I didn't like this president. I merely stated that he (nor any president) should take any credit for the military finally accomplishing this 9+ year mission. It really does not matter who the commander in chief would have been when Bin Laden was captured or killed. This was on ongoing mission by the CIA and military leaders. I have no tainted view.
I am proud to be an American citizen, and I am proud of our Navy Seals for finally 'getting their man".

  13. Notice Obama didn't thank former president Bush. I give Obama credit for making the judgement call. But, lets not forget if it was up to Obama we would have never gotten the information in the first place that led to UBl getting a round through his skull.

  14. BE, Go back and listen to his address again. He Thanks president Bush. and He has thanked him since then as well.

  15. OBAMA SHOULD GET THE CREDIT. He made a hard decision and it worked. Unbelievable that SOME people think you should thank Bush when in 2003, he said "I don't know where he is and I don't care." I am not sure how anyone can be so badly informed. A trusted courrier was followed and led to the suspicion of his whereabouts. The place was only suspected as being a hideout since August, not a nine year project.

  16. He should have also thanked Clinton... the hunt for Bin Laden actually started during that administration after the bombing of the USS Cole.

  17. Wrong again kenny. In 2007, the U.S. learned the man's name.

It was not immediately clear where the information that opened the end game was obtained. The New York Times reported Monday that detainees at the military prison in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, gave the courier’s pseudonym to interrogators and identified him as a protégé of Khalid Shaikh Mohammed, the confessed mastermind of the Sept. 11 attacks. But the Associated Press quoted unidentified U.S. officials as saying that CIA interrogators at secret prisons developed strands that led to bin Laden.

  18. I have read various accounts and have read different versions of how the info was obtained. Just goes to show you that you cannot believe what you read or hear on TV. Everyone is so intent on getting "the scoop" they seem not so intent on verifying their sources or the info. Let's face it, the government will likely never tell us what really happened and I am just fine with that.

Clinton, Bush and Obama should all get some credit for keeping on this. Of course the military and CIA get credit too. We have some good people working for us!

  19. Bush and Obama deserve credit for their fight against Bin Laden. Clinton was offered Bin Laden more than once and declined to take action. He deserves some fault in Bin Ladens attack on 9-11.

  20. GST- I apologize- I wasn't implying that you didn't like Obama.. I was making my own comment. I do give Obama credit where it's due. he made a gutsy call. boots on the ground inside a sovereign nation... if it had gone bad- it would have been catastrophic for the US. Immense props go to our military because this group performed this operation with precision.

No one knew who Bin Laden was on 9/10/2001- Clinton would have been carpet bombed by politicians for trying to "wag the dog." Though Bush was not on the ground himself looking- we weren't able to find him during those 7 years. Obama struck while the iron was hot. Props to them all- kudo's to Obama for sending troops and not a missile.
